Women's Volleyball Completes Season with Win vs Oregon

EUGENE, OR - The 11th-ranked UCLA women's volleyball team concluded its 2001 regular season with a 3-1 victory over Oregon on Tuesday night in Eugene. The Bruins complete their regular season with a 18-8 record and a 12-6 Pac-10 record, good for a fourth-place finish. Game scores were 30-19, 25-30, 30-16, 30-28. Oregon falls to 9-20, 0-17 Pac-10.
The Bruins came out hot in the opening game of the match, hitting .586 in the 30-19 win. After faltering in the game two loss, UCLA rebounded with a .361 attack percentage in game three.
Junior outside hitter Lauren Fendrick led the Bruins with 19 kills and a .425 attack percentage for the match. She was joined in double figures by Ashley Bowles, who had 12 kills to go along with a team-high 11 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Cira Wright led the Bruins with five blocks (two solo, three assists).
Tuesday's match concludes UCLA's regular season schedule. The Bruins now await the announcement of the 64-team NCAA Tournament bracket, which will take place at Noon PT on Monday, November 26.
