Tripplett Named 1st Team All-American by Football News
Nov. 21, 2001
Seattle - Washington senior defensive tackle Larry Tripplett has been named a first-team All-American by The Football News, one of the nation's oldest publications covering collegiate and professional football.
Tripplett heads into Saturday's final regular-season game at Miami with 37 total tackles. He leads Washington with 14 tackles for loss, the most by any interior defensive lineman in the Pac-10 Conference. Tripplett has two sacks this season and has blocked one kick.
Tripplett was a third-team All-America selection by The Football news last season. He becomes the first Husky defensive lineman to earn first-team All-America honors since Steve Emtman in 1991.
