Oregon St. Tips Seawolves, 72-63

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Philip Ricci scored 24 points and grabbed sixrebounds as Oregon State defeated Alaska Anchorage 72-63 Saturday for seventhplace in the Great Alaska Shootout.

The Beavers (2-2) built a 12-point first-half lead working the ball insideto Ricci and Brian Jackson, who together shot 9-for-11 and missed only one shotapiece.

Joe See hit a 3-point shot with 50 seconds left in the first half to giveOregon State its biggest lead of the half at 35-22.

In the second half, Alaska Anchorage (0-3) closed to 48-45 when CodyGallatin hit the Division II Seawolves' fifth 3-pointer of the period. ButJackson completed a three-point play and then muscled in for a basket in thelane, starting a 10-0 run that pushed the lead to 58-45.

The Seawolves closed to 66-61 with 1:20 left, but Oregon State iced thevictory with free throws.

Jackson finished with 17 points and six rebounds.

Peter Bullock led Alaska Anchorage with 17 points and nine rebounds.
