Tully Banta-Cain Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

BERKELEY - Cal junior defensive end Tully Banta-Cain and Arizona wide receiver Bobby Wade have been named Pac-10 Players of the Week in football.
Banta-Cain led the defensive effort in Cal's 20-10 win at Rutgers. Banta-Cain registered four quarterback sacks (-28 yards) and five tackles for loss (-31) among his six solo tackles. The Cal defense limited Rutgers to 10 first downs, 47 yards rushing, 142 yards passing, 189 yards total offense, 2-of-16 on 3rd-down conversion attempts and posted five quarterback sacks, four by Banta-Cain.
Wade, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., played a key role in Arizona's upset 34-21 win at Arizona State. Wade pulled in a career-high 11 receptions for 157 yards (14.3), including a 19-yard touchdown reception.
Also nominated for offensive player of the week honors were running backs Terrell Williams of California and Kenneth Tolon of Stanford. Also nominated on defense were linebackers Coy Wire of Stanford and Lance Briggs of Arizona.
