STANFORD has won or shared the Pac-10 title seven of the last eight years - with nine championships overall. . . The Pac-10 posted an impressive 72-20 (.783) record against non-league foes, including a mark of 18-9 (.667) against non-conference teams ranked in the Top 25. . . Neutral court experience should help Pac-10 teams as they enter postseason play. Pac-10 teams compiled a 26-1 (.963) record in neutral venues.

NCAA TOURNAMENT NOTES
For the second consecutive season, the Pac-10 will send six teams into the NCAA Tournament. Since Pac-10 play began in 1986, the Conference has sent at least half of the league's teams into NCAA play in 12 of the 16 championships. . . Over the last 11 years of NCAA Tournament play, the Pac-10 has piled up an impressive 97-33 (.746) record against non-league opponents, producing six national titles (UCLA 1990, 1991, STAN 1992, 1994, 1996, 1997). . . The Pac-10 posted a 22-13 (.629) record this season against non-league teams that make up the 64-team field for the NCAA Tournament. The six Pac-10 teams participating in the Tournament sported a 20-7 (.741) record against teams in the field.
The Wildcats posted their sixth consecutive 20-win season. It's the seventh 20-win season for the Wildcats under the 10-year guidance of coach David Rubio. Arizona had just six 20-win seasons in the 18 years prior to Rubio's arrival in Tucson. . . It's the 17th NCAA Tournament appearance for the Wildcats and sixth consecutive appearance. Arizona is 15-16 (.484) all-time in the NCAA Tournament. Hoever, the Cats are 11-7 in their last seven Tournament appearances. . . Senior setter Dana Burkholder holds the UA record and is third all-time on the Pac-10 list with 5,187 career assists. . . Thanks to senior outside hitter Jill Talbot's Pac-10 leading .431 hitting percentage, Arizona is one of three Pac-10 teams to hit .300 or better this season.
Senior outside hitter Jami Coughlin concluded her career with 1,528 digs - that ranks fourth all-time on the Pac-10 career list. Coughlin led the Pac-10 in digs (3.98 dpg) for the second time in her career. She also posted 1,360 career kills - sixth all-time in school history. . . Sophomore outside hitter Kim Mehlhorn concluded the 2001 campaign with 3.42 kpg and 2.76 dpg. She posted double digit kill totals in 14 of ASU's last 15 matches. . . The Sun Devils posted a double digit win total for the fifth consecutive season and 15th time in the last 16 seasons.
Senior setter Candace McNamee finished her Cal career playing in 110 matches and 375 games. She ranks third on Cal's all-time assist list (3,622), seventh on Cal's all-time service ace list (101) and ningth on Cal's all-time total block list (236). assist list (3,491). . . Freshman middle blocker Camille Leffall was the Pac-10's top freshman in hitting percentage, ranking third overall in the league with a .381 hitting percentage. Her impressive hitting percentage established a California single-season record.
Junior middle blocker Stephanie Martin finished the year with a .311 hitting percentage - it's the highest hitting percentage by an Oregon player since 1984 (Sue Harbour, .364). . . Senior outside hitter Monique Tobbagi finished her Oregon career with 1,174 kills. Tobbagi is just the fifth player in Oregon history to reach the 1,000 kill plateau. . . With 2,732 career assists, senior setter Julie Gerlach now ranks third all-time at Oregon. . . Junior middle blocker Lindsay Closs (119 total blocks) and Martin (126 total blocks) give the Ducks two players to each record 100 or more total blocks in a season since 1993.
The Beavers are making their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament, having last appeared in 1983. . . The 10 wins and fifth-place finish in Conference play are the most wins and highest finish for the Beavers since 1990 when they finished third in Pac-10 play with a 11-7 record. . . Senior outside hitter Gina Schmidt has piled up 1,341 kills and 1,119 assists during her career. Those numbers rank third and seventh respectively on the Oregon State career lists. . . With 327 total blocks, junior middle blocker Michele Solomon ranks eighth on the OSU all-time list. . . Sophomore setter Laura Collins has 1,299 career assists - fifth on the OSU all-time list.
The Cardinal are one of four teams to have appeared in all 21 championships. Stanford sports a 57-17 (.770) postseason record with four NCAA titles (1992, 1994, 1996, 1997). . . The Cardinal have won 20 consecutive postseason matches when hosting NCAA Tournament play. . . Pac-10 Player of the Year Logan Tom leads the Pac-10 in kills (4.91 kpg), service aces (0.54 sapg) and points (5.97 ppg). She ranks second in the Conference in digs (3.37 dpg). . . Pac-10 Freshman of the Year Ogonna Nnamani leads all Pac-10 freshman in kills with 3.88 kpg.
The Bruins are making their 20th NCAA Tournament appearance with a postseason record of 51-17 (.750). UCLA won NCAA titles in 1984, 1990 and 1991. . . Senior setter Erika Selsor ranks 10th in NCAA Division I history with 6,071 career assists. . . Senior outside hitter Kristee Porter returns to the UCLA lineup after having her eligibility restored by the NCAA Student-Athlete Reinstatement Staff (she missed 13 matches). UCLA suspended Porter while it investigated the possibility that Porter had accepted what would be considered by the NCAA as 'extra benefits.' the NCAA informed UCLA that Porter would be penalized 50% of this volleyball season and would have to make restitution of an amount equal to the 'extra benefits' she received. Porter is the Pac-10's all-time kills leader (2,189).
The Trojans are making their 19th NCAA Tournament appearance and have a 30-17 (.638) postseason record. . . USC captured the first NCAA title in women's volleyball in 1981. . . Sophomore outside hitter April Ross has done nothing but improve her performances in November. In eight matches this month, Ross has averaged a .335 attack percentage, 4.43 kills, 3.00 digs and 5.18 points per game. The increase is evident when you compare the numbers to her stats in October - a .220 attack percentage, 3.68 kills, 2.93 digs and 4.07 points per game. . . Senior middle blocker Jennifer Pahl ranks sixth on USC's all-time total blocks list with 388. . . USC led the league in hitting (.311), assists (16.00 apg) and kills (17.40 kpg).
Senior outside hitter Allison Richardson finished her career with 1004 kills - eighth all-time on the UW career list. Richardson's 4.29 kills per game ranked second only to Pac-10 Player of the Year Logan Tom's 4.91 kpg. . . Junior setter Gretchen Maurer posted the fourth best single-season assists total in school history with 1,215 assists. Her career total (1,765 assists) rankes seventh all-time at Washington. . . Senior middle blocker Lisa Underhill concludes her UW career third on the school career list for block assists (371) and total blocks (415).
The Cougars are making their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance and have a 6-7 (.462) postseason record. The Cougars are 4-1 in NCAA Tournament matches hosted in Pullman. . . WSU finished Pac-10 play with a 9-9 league record for the second consecutive season. The Cougars have posted a .500 record or better in league play in five of the last six seasons. . . Junior rightside hitter Chelsie Schafer earned MVP honors at the season-ending UNLV Planet Hollywood Tournament. She hit .339 to collect 29 kills (4.83 kpg) and added 17 digs (2.83 dpg). . . The Cougars led the league with 1.84 service aces per game - the most in the Pac-10 since 1994. . . Junior outside hitter LaToya Harris ranks fourth on the school career charts with 1,067 kills and fifth with 102 service ace.
