Eric Heitmann and Tank Williams Named First Team All-Americans By AFCA

Waco, Tex. --- Stanford's Eric Heitmann and Tank Williams were named First Team All-Americans, the American Football Coaches Association announced today. Heitmann, a senior, earned the honor as an offensive guard while fellow senior Williams garnered the recognition for his efforts at free safety.

Heitmann, a three year starter for the Cardinal, has started 34 consecutive games for Stanford. Recently named First Team All-Pac-10, Heitmann is the first offensive lineman to be named First Team All-America since Bob Whitfield earned the honor in 1991. Heitmann was also named First Team All-America by Football News and Second Team All-America by Sporting News.

Williams helped anchor the Cardinal defense this season, recording five interceptions and 68 tackles. He is the first defensive back to be named First Team All-America in school history. He was also named First Team All-Pac-10 and Second Team All-America by Football News.
