Stanford, Calif. - Junior outside hitter Logan Tom is one of four candidates in volleyball for the 2001-02 Honda Sports Award to determine the top woman collegiate athlete in that sport. The winner for volleyball will become a nominee for the Honda-Broderick Cup, which is awarded annually to the nation's outstanding Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.

Tom, who hails from Salt Lake City, Utah, led Stanford to its NCAA-record fifth national title this month with a 3-0 win over No. 1 Long Beach State. Tom, a three-time first-team All-American, was tabbed 2001 AVCA National Player of the Year in addition to being named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

The 6-1 outside hitter was a member of the U.S. National Team that finished fourth in the Sydney Olympics and was named Pac-10 Player of the Year last month.
