All Six Cardinal Entrants Advance to Second Day of Competition at Midlands

Evanston, Illinois - Stanford's six wrestlers competed today at the Midlands on the campus of Northwestern University. Each Cardinal entrant will compete on the second and final day of competition in the consolation bracket.
Iowa State is atop the team standings at the end of the first day with 39 points, edging Ohio State by one point. Stanford is tied for 55th with five points.
Sophomore Nathan Peterson (Georgetown, IN/Floyd Central) nabbed one of the tournaments 43 falls with one over Andy Gleixner (MacMurray) at 3:51. After posting a 2-1 record on the first day, he will begin Sunday by facing No. 10 Jerold Limongelli (Rider). Redshirt freshman Scott Polley (Bonner Springs, KS/Bonner Springs) tallied Stanford's only major decision with an 11-2 win over Triton's John Sklena.
The Cardinal conclude competition at the Midlands on Sun., Dec. 30. Stanford will travel to Arlington, Texas for the Lone Star Duals on Sat., Jan. 5.
