Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. --USC sophomore guard Aisha Hollans has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 31-Jan. 6, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Hollans, from Berkeley, Calif., led USC in scoring and rebounding this week to help the Women of Troy (8-7 overall, 4-2 Pac-10) to a split at the Washington schools. For the weekend, Hollans shot 46 percent from the field (18-of-39) and was perfect from the foul line (11-of-11). In the two games she averaged 24.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists. Against Washington she posted 26 points, eight rebounds and tied her career-high with two blocks. She also hit a personal-best 7-of-7 free throws against the Huskies. In USC's win over Washington State, Hollans scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Hollans has now scored in double figures in 14 of USC's 15 games. She has posted double figures in rebounds in four games and has notched four double-doubles. The Women of Troy's 4-2 conference record is the best start for USC in the Pac-10 since 1997.
The Player of the Week honor is the first of Hollans' career and the 28th all-time selection for USC.
