No. 2 UCLA Gymnasts Defeat No. 19 Arizona State, 195.325-192.125

Los Angeles, Calif. - The second-ranked UCLA gymnastics team defeated 19th-ranked Arizona State by a score of 195.325-192.125. Onnie Willis and Jamie Dantzscher tied for top all-around honors with scores of 39.3. Kristin Parker was third with a 39.1.
UCLA used a 49.05 score on bars in the second rotation to open up a comfortable 97.55-95.8 lead heading into beam. Although the Sun Devils on floor exercise cut into the lead by outscoring UCLA 49.025-48.5 in rotation three, the Bruins gave no doubt about the outcome on floor in the last event. Parker (9.85), Yvonne Tousek (9.825) and Willis (9.975) posted consecutive high scores, setting the stage for Dantzscher, who sent the 1,347 fans home happy with her second consecutive perfect 10 on floor.
Dantzscher's 10 increased her school-record career total to 10 overall and seven on floor. She has scored a 10 in the Bruins' last three meets (vault at Georgia, floor at Cal State Fullerton, floor vs. Arizona State).
The Bruins swept the individual events and the top 3 placings in the all-around. Dantzscher won floor and vault (9.925). Malia Jones, who competed for the first time this season after sitting out UCLA's first three meets with an injury, and Willis tied for first on bars with a 9.85. Parker was first on beam with a 9.825.
UCLA's next meet will be Friday, Jan. 25 at Arizona at 7:30 pm MT.
