Clemens Captures Title at Sherwood

Thousand Oaks, Calif. - UCLA men's tennis player Tobias Clemens rallied from a set down to defeat San Diego State's Oliver Maiberger in three sets Monday to capture the singles title at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup at the Sherwood Country Club.

Clemens, who was able to fight off a match point in his semifinal win over Pepperdine's Al Garland on Sunday, defeated Maiberger, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. He becomes the second UCLA men's tennis player in as many days to capture a singles title, as Bruin junior Rodrigo Grille won the National Collegiate Tennis Classic in Las Vegas on Sunday.
