Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON STATE senior guard Felicia Ragland hasbeen named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan.14-20, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Ragland, from Tulare, Calif., averaged 26.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.03-pointers per game as the Beavers defeated rival Oregon at McArthurCourt and fell to UC Santa Barbara. On the week, Ragland shot 45.9percent from the field (17-of-37), 44.4 percent from beyond the arc(8-of-18) and 83.3 percent from the free throw line (10-of-12).
In the 79-73 loss to UCSB Jan. 16, Ragland knocked down 11-of-21 fieldgoal attempts (.524), including 7-of-14 treys, to score a game-high 36points. It was her fourth 30-point outing on the season. Her seventhree-pointers matched her own Oregon State school record. She also made7-of-9 free throws against the Gauchos.
Against the Ducks Jan. 19, Ragland led all players with 16 points as theBeavers claimed their first Civil War victory in 12 tries and notchedtheir first win at Mac Court in nine years. She pulled down a team-high11 boards to record the 15th double-double of her career and third on theseason. The 2001 Pac-10 Player of the Year, Ragland leads the Conferencein scoring (20.5 ppg), steals (2.95 spg) and 3-pointers per game (2.74avg).
Oregon State (10-9, 6-3 Pac-10), in a three-way tie for second place inthe Pac-10, returns home to Gill Coliseum to host UCLA and USC this week.
The Player of the Week honor is the second of Ragland's career and the23rd all-time selection for Oregon State.
