Women's Divers Complete Final Day Of Bruin Invitational

Pasadena, Calif. - Stanford divers earned a total of nine Top 10 places in the women's 1-meter and platform competitions on the final day of the Bruin Diving Invitational at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center on Saturday. McKenze Murphy's third-place showing in the 1-meter event with a combined finals and prelims score of 507.75 was the top finish by a Cardinal diver. Kim Powers was the top Cardinal performer in the platform event, finishing fourth with a score of 417.70. USC's Kellie Brennan was the top collegiate finisher in the 1-meter event (behind exhibition diver Rachelle Kunkel) with 517.15 points and Wang Rui (Tsingua University) won the platform competition with a score of 498.60.
Other Cardinal divers following Murphy in the 1-meter competition were Ashlee Rosenthal (5th, 497.40), Kim Powers (6th, 485.70), Alexis Sowa (7th, 470.95) and Lauren Donovan (9th, 459.80). All scores were combined prelims and finals results. In the platform event, Powers was followed by Murphy (5th, 386.65), Sowa (6th, 357.50) and Rosenthal (7th, 339.35).
Stanford will next be in action when the Cardinal women's swimming and diving team hosts Arizona (1 pm) and Arizona State (12 pm) in its first two Pac-10 dual meets of the season at the Avery Aquatic Center this Friday and Saturday, January 25 and 26.
This competition was held on Saturday, January 19, but results were not made available until Tuesday, January 22.
