UCLA Ranked Second In NFCA Pre-Season Poll

Jan. 24, 2002

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA softball team has been ranked second in the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I Top 25, it was announced this week. The poll is voted on by 27 NCAA Division I coaches representing all Division I conferences and independents. First-place votes are in parentheses.

The Bruins, last year's NCAA Runner-Up, trail only 2001 NCAA Champion Arizona. The Pac-10's presence is noticeable in the poll, as four of the top-five spots are from the Conference of Champions. Three additional Pac-10 teams are ranked in the top-20.
