Women's Tennis Starts Weekend With A Strong Win

EUGENE, Ore.- The University of Oregon Women's tennis team played strong today winning all of their matches in both Singles and Doubles against Santa Clara University.

In Doubles, Ester Bak and Vickie Gunnarsson play great against Santa Clara's Jenny Siegal and Catherine Cochrane, beating them 8-0. Oregon's singles players also showed they meant business by winning all 6 of their matches against the Broncos.

'We played very well today,' said assistant coach Nils Schyllander, 'our girls played a simple game and executed very well. They didn't give anything away for free, and made the other team work for everything.'

Oregon Women play again tomorrow, in the Student Tennis Center, against Idaho at 1:30pm, and Northern Arizona starting at 6pm.
