No. 7 Arizona Gymnastics Falls to No. 12 Stanford

Palo Alto, Calif. - The No. 7 Arizona women's gymnastics team fell to No. 12 Stanford, 197.250- 195.175, on Friday, at Stanford's Burnham Pavilion. Arizona's team total of 195.175 is the squad's fourth-highest mark this season, while Stanford's 197.250 is a season-high mark for the Cardinal. Arizona fell to 6-2, 1-1 Pac-10, while Stanford improved to 3-1, 3-0 Pac-10.
Arizona took the team vault title for the fifth-straight meet, setting a new team record with a score of 49.375. The Wildcats also posted a season-high 49.275 on bars, which ranks as the eighth best score in team history. Arizona lead the Cardinal after two events, but encountered some problems on beam and floor. Stanford set season-high marks in each team event, posting the second-highest beam score in school history (49.400).
Eight Wildcat gymnast - Nikki Beyschau, Monica Bisordi, Jamie Duce, Stevie Fanning, Nicci Filchner, Katie Johnson, Randi Liljenquist and Andi McCabe - each set or tied season-high and career-high marks in tonight's meet.
Individually for the Wildcats, Senior Randi Liljenquist scored a 39.300 to win her third all-round title of the season. Liljenquist tied for first place on floor (9.925), second place on bars (9.900) and second place on beam (9.900). Freshman Katie Johnson shared top-honors with Liljenquist (9.925) to claim her third floor title of the season.
Sophomore Andi McCabe posted a career-high 9.975 on vault to win her second vault title of the season. McCabe's score on vault (9.975) ranks as the second-best mark in school history.
Freshman Monica Bisordi debuted in the all-around, finishing third with a score of 38.975. Bisordi finished second on vault with a career-high 9.925, tied for second on beam with a career-high 9.900 and tied for third (9.900) in her debut on floor. Freshmen Jamie Duce and Stevie Fanning each set career-highs on bars (9.875), tying for fourth place in the event.
Arizona returns home to host the California Golden Bears on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m., in McKale Center.
