Men's Golf Tied for Fifth at Ping/Arizona Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. - The California men's golf team opened its spring season Monday at the Ping/Arizona Intercollegiate. The Bears are tied for fifth place after the first 18 holes. The scheduled second round of play was suspended at 6:15 p.m. due to darkness with two-thirds of the field still on The Raven course.

Following a strong fall season, Cal sophomore Peter Tomasulo led the Bears at the season-opener with a 1-under first round. Other Bears placing in the top 20 were Scott Carlyle and Walter Chun, who each shot a 71 (E) and tied for 17th.

Play will resume Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. MST with the completion of the second round. The final round will follow at approximately 8:30 a.m.
