Women's Golf Joins 'Birdies For Wishes' Program
Feb. 4, 2002
Corvallis, Oregon - The Oregon State women's golf team has teamed up with the National Golf Coaches Association to participate in the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Birdies for Wishes program, benefiting children who are terminally ill.
For every birdie recorded in competition by a Beaver during the 2001-02 season, friends family and fans may make pledges. Pledges of 25 cents, 50 cents, $1 or $5 per birdie will be accepted in addition to one-time contributions.
During the season a running total of birdies will be posted on-line at osubeavers.com. At the end of the year, all contributions will be made to the Oregon Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the name of the Oregon State Women's Golf Program.
To request a pledge card please contact women's golf coach, Rise Lakowske, 103 Gill Coliseum, Corvallis, Oregon 97331, or by calling 541-737-6161. You may also reach Coach Lakowske by e-mail at Rise.Lakowske@orst.edu.
As of January 1, the Beavers have recorded 75 birdies in the 4 competitions. They have 7-8 competitions remaining in for the 2001-02 academic year.
