Men's Swimming Ranked 24th In The Coaches' Top-25 Poll
Feb. 5, 2002
SEATTLE - For the second straight season, the Washington men's swimming team (15-1) has earned a No. 24 national ranking in the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) top 25 poll. The Husky women, who boast a 14-2 dual-meet record, received the 28th-most votes (3) in the poll, which was released January 30.
The UW men also earned a No. 24 ranking a year ago after sweeping a pair of meets at Hawaii, which had finished 15th at the 2000 NCAA meet. The Huskies, whose lone loss this season came at No. 7 Arizona St., are the only team ranked within the top 25 to not field a diving squad. All five other Pac-10 men's squads are ranked, including No. 1 Stanford, which also tops the women's poll.
The UW women's team will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 9, when they travel to Corvallis, Ore., to take on the Oregon State Beavers. The men do not resume action until the Pac-10 championships in Long Beach Calif., March 7-9.
