Stacey Nuveman Named Pac-10 Softball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, CA - UCLA designated player Stacey Nuveman has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week while Washington's Tia Bollinger was named Pitcher of the Week for February 5 - 10, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Nuveman, from LaVerne, Calif., has been the catalyst for the Bruin offense early on this season and has helped lead UCLA to a 9-0 start. During the week, Nuveman hit .533 in six games played, along with seven runs scored, eight hits, three home runs, seven RBI, eight walks and a 1.200 slugging percentage. Additionally, she needs just 12 home runs to tie and 13 home runs to break the NCAA record for career home runs.
For the season, Nuveman is batting .571 with seven runs scored, 12 hits, three home runs, nine RBI, 12 walks and a slugging percentage of 1.143.
It is the eighth weekly honor for Nuveman and the 60th for UCLA all-time. Bollinger earns the second award of her career. Washington has now received 45 honors all-time.
