Lithograph Commemorates 100 Seasons of UW Basketball
Feb. 13, 2002
Seattle - A special limited-edition lithograph commemorating 100 seasons of Washington men's basketball will be on sale to the general public for this first time this week. The 23' by 29' drawing was created by renowned local artist Michael Reagan. It features more than 40 former Husky players and coaches.
All of the lithographs have been autographed by Reagan and Husky Hall of Fame members Marv Harshman, Bob Houbregs and Detlef Schrempf. Only 750 copies of the signed lithographs will be sold. Reagan was the artist who drew Washington's highly-successful '100 Years of Husky Football' lithograph.
The cost of the basketball lithograph is $250. Prints can be purchased starting Friday at the Husky Team Shop at Bank of America Arena. Copies of the lithograph can also be ordered online at Washington's official athletic web site gohuskies.com or at huskyfever.com.
The individuals featured on the commemorative lithograph were selected from a specific criteria. Included on the drawing are former Husky All-Americans, multiple-year all-conference selections, the top-20 scoring leaders in school history and the coaches who led Washington to more than one NCAA tournament appearance. The starting members of the 1953 basketball team, the only Husky team to advance to the Final Four, are also included on the drawing.
