Men's Tennis Ranked No. 1 In the Nation

SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Stanford men jumped to No. 1 in this week's Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings for Division I, administered and released today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).On Sunday, Stanford (5-0) captured the title at the U.S. Tennis Association/ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Louisville, Ky., respectively. The Cardinal captured the title by beating Illinois 4-3 in the final.

Stanford is the unanimous selection for No. 1 this week, receiving all eight votes from the respective ITA National Ranking Committees. The Cardinal was ranked No. 2 behind Georgia entering the National Team Indoors.

Following Stanford in the men's top 10 are: Illinois (5-1), Georgia (5-1), Southern California (6-2), UCLA (7-1), Mississippi (5-1), Notre Dame (7-3), Baylor (4-0), Pepperdine (6-2) and Kentucky (7-2).

Following Georgia in the women's top 10 are: Vanderbilt (12-1), Stanford (5-1), Duke (5-1), Florida (1-0), Wake Forest (4-1), Arizona State (2-0), Tennessee (4-3), Texas (2-0) and North Carolina (5-1). The Cardinal women, who were ranked No. 1 last week, dropped a 4-3 decision to Georgia in the women's National Team Indoors at the University of Wisconsin.
