The Countdown to the big Showdown...We begin our final month of regular season competition. Expect some high-flying, exciting gymnastics as Pac-10 teams begin preparation for the Pac-10 Championships hosted by the STANFORD Cardinal...Last week, OREGON STATE returned to the national top-25 list for the first time since preseason polls. The Beavers sit at No. 21...No. 10 UCLA staged an upset over No. 7 STANFORD...ARIZONA and ARIZONA STATE maintained its residence at No. 11 and 16 respectively...This week, a battle of the sunshine state will ensue as UCLA, UCSB and UCD head to CALIFORNIA for quadular meet action.

UCLA SO Jamie Dantzscher has been named Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week for February 3-10. Dantzscher (San Dimas, Calif.) captures the title for the second-time this season and the third time in her illustrious career as a Bruin...This week, Danzscher led the No. 10 Bruins to an upset win over defending Pac-10 champs, No. 7 Stanford. Recording a career-best all-around total of 39.725, Dantzscher led UCLA to a season-best team total of 196.925 to Stanford's 195.025...Dantzscher placed first on floor with her fourth-consecutive perfect 10 and earned the uneven bars title with a season-high tying 9.975. She also placed on vault with a 9.875 and set a new career high to tie for second on beam with a 9.875. Dantzscher moved up to fourth on the all-time school list for all-around score and increased her school record total for career perfect 10s to 12...The 2000 U.S. Olympian is now ranked second nationally in the all-aroundand first on vault and bars.

ARIZONA - The Wildcats improved to 7-2 and remain undefeated at home (4-0), after a win against California...The Wildcats claimed the team vault title for the sixth-straight meet. Their score of 49.125 ties the fifth-best all-time mark. On the floor, 49.400 was a season high and ranks second-best in school history. Arizona was led by its trio of young freshman...Katie Johnson won her fourth floor title when she tied her personal-best of 9.975. Monica Bisordi won her first career all-around title with a career-high 39.125 and Stevie Fanning took home the gold on beam and bars, scoring 9.750 and 9.90 respectively...This Friday, the Wildcats head to Corvallis to compete with the Beavers.

ARIZONA STATE - The Sun Devils posted a season-high 195.800 at the Uno Classic. The total was good for a first-place tie with Oregon State while Cal State Fullerton and Southern Utah trailed with 194.975 and 192.375 respectively...On the floor, the Beavers posted a season-high 49.475 thanks to four marks over 9.9. JR Ashley Ellsberry and JR Cassidy Vreeke tied for first with 9.925s...SR All-American Laura Moon returned from injury, making an immediate impact on the team. She posted a 9.825 on bars en-route to a season-high tally of 48.175.

CALIFORNIA- The Golden Bears were forced to compete with an incomplete lineup due to injury and illness to several team members...Despite missing four competitors on vault and two each on both floor and bars, the Bears conceeded that 'the show must go on.' The team rallied together and compiled 138.825 points against Arizona...SO Stephanie Kim and FR Miho Maeda were the Bears top placers. Kim finished in fifth-place on the beam (9.475), while Maeda posted a 9.575 on bars for another fifth-place finish.

OREGON STATE - Oregon State returned to the national ranks (No. 21) after posting a season-high 195.800 at the Uno Classic in Tempe. The Beavers tied Arizona State for first place. Cal State Fullerton placed third (194.975), followed by Southern Utah (192.375)...The Beavers were led by JR Annie Campbell who recorded season-high marks on all four events. Campbell claimed the all-around title with the highest all-around title by a Beaver gymnast this season (39.425)...Teammate SO Tanya Ricioli posted a career-best 39.300 in the all-around...The Beavers 49.475 on floor was one of four season-high team totals.

STANFORD - Despite a loss to No. 11 UCLA, Stanford remains at No. 7 nationally. The Cardinal moves to 4-2 on the season after a premier match-up against the Bruins...The Cardinal led after the first rotation with a score of 48.875 on uneven bars. SR Becy Meldrum's 9.875 was the top score on bars and tied the highest score of the night for the Cardinal... SO Shelly Goldberg and SO Lise Leveille were Stanford's other high scorers. Their 9.875s were good for a fourth-place tie on floor...Love gymnastics? Then spend time with your REAL true love on V-day...The match-up will be televised by Fox Sports West on Feb. 14 at 1:30 p,m. PT (tape delayed).

UCLA - The 11th-ranked Bruins pulled an upset over No. 7 Stanford on Sunday. The Bruins defeated the Cardinal with a season-high 196.925-195.025... SO Jamie Dantzscher's all-around score of 39.725 was a career high. Dantzscher posted the 12th perfect 10 of her career (10.0, floor)...UCLA jumped into the lead in rotation two, the uneven bars. Four consecutive 9.9+ season-best scores by the Bruins produced a season-best 49.525...It was a Bruin sweep in the all-around led by Dantzscher, JR Onnie Willis (39.55) and SO Yvonne Tousek (39.525). The Bruins also nabbed the top-three spots on vault, bars and floor...Watch the meet with your sweethart... The match-up will be televised by Fox Sports West on Feb. 14 at 1:30 p,m. PT (tape delayed).

WASHINGTON -Washington fell to No. 2 Utah (195.700-193.375) and moves to 2-3 on the season...Husky gymnasts would not be intimated by the highly-ranked Utah Utes. FR Carly Dockendorf (9.975-floor), SO Emily Pritchard (9.950-bars) and SR Allison Bruce (9.775-bars) put forth career-high performances against the Utes... Dockendorf's 9.975 on floor claimed first-place and becomes the highest score by a freshman on floor in Washington history...Washington lost another top competitor in SO Molly Seaman. She is out for the season with a knee injury...The Huskies continue to battle with their challenging schedule as they face 16th-ranked Arizona State on Friday.
