Husky Golfers Stay in 8th Place at Waikoloa Intercollegiate

Waikoloa, HI - For the second straight day, the Washington men's golf team shot 12-over 290 and stayed in eighth place at the Taylor Made Waikoloa Intercollegiate . At 580, the Huskies are 14 strokes behind tournament leader Georgia Tech (566). Stanford is in second place at 573.
Washington was led during its second round by sophomore Brock Mackenzie, who carded a 3-under 69 to move into ninth-place overall at 142. Washington junior Conner Robbins continues to lead the Husky contingent. He shot 1-under 71 and is tied for fifth at 3-under 141.
Stanford's Philip Rowe shot 67 on Thursday to take a one-stroke lead at 136. Georgia Tech's Troy Matteson is second at 137.
Washington's John Robertson, who opened play with a 72, shot 77 during the second round to fall back to 66th at 149. He is tied with teammate Dan Potter, who shot 74 on Thursday. Gordy Scutt rounds out the Husky scoring at 151 to place him in 82nd overall. Scutt shot 76 during the second round.
The final round of the tournament will be played Friday at the 7,074-yard Waikoloa King's Course.
