Two Sun Devils were named Baseball America Summer League All-America selections, as Esposito and Rod Allen (Anchorage Glacier Pilots/Alaska) were honored.

Top Recruits: Baseball America named Stanford and USC as having the No. 2 and No. 3 top recruiting classes in the nation, respectively, behind No. 1 Notre Dame. The Pac-10 just missed having three teams listed in the top-10 as it ranked Arizona State at No. 11. Collegiate Baseball ranked those three teams in their top-10 with USC leading all at No. 1, Stanford at No. 5 and Arizona State at No. 8.

Attendance Marks: Arizona State and Stanford both posted national marks for attendance during the 2001 season, 11th and 17th, respectively. Ranking second in the West behind Fresno State, ASU had 93,732 fans at Packard Stadium last year. The Sun Devils ranked 10th in the nation in average attendance (2,757), while Stanford put up total numbers of 83,264 for an average of 2,379 fans a game.

Record Watch: Several Pac-10 coaches are on their way to reaching significant milestones. UCLA head coach Gary Adams is just four wins away from reaching 900 victories as the Bruins' leader. Hohokam Park is the winter facility and Spring Training home of the Chicago Cubs. USC plays a three game series against the Baylor Bears at Dodger Stadium Feb. 15-17.
