Men's Golf 14th At John Burns Intercollegiate

WAHIAWA, Hawaii - The University of Arizona men's golf team posted an11-over par total of 299 Monday and stands in 14th place after the firstround of the John Burns Intercollegiate.
Arizona's 299 team total Monday was its second highest round this season.The effort places the Wildcats in 14th position in the 20-team field, 25strokes behind first round leader San Diego State at 274 (-14). The Aztecswere one of just two teams in the field to post a sub-par round on Monday.New Mexico is second at 287 (-1), while tournament-host Hawaii and Auburnare tied for third at 288 (E).
Individually, Arizona was led by freshman Kipp Riehle, who tallied aone-over 73 and is tied for 24th place in the 106-player field. ChrisNallen and Reid Hatley are among a group of nine golfers tied for 45thplace at 75 (+3). Ricky Barnes is one stroke behind in a tie for 54thplace. Rounding out the Wildcat five is Brian Woolf, who stands tied for93rd place at 81 (+9).
The 54-hole tournament continues through Wednesday at the Leleihua GolfCourse, a par 72, 6,917-yard facility.
