TUCSON - The Panthers took advantage of four errors by the Bulldogs to giveNorthern Iowa a 7-5 victory and keep Drake winless, in both teams' finalgame of Arizona's Worth Wildcat Invitational softball tournament Sunday.

Both teams opened the first with a triple to centerfield to score runs.Lindsay Wood hit one in the gap in right center then scored on StaceySampson's sacrifice fly for Northern Iowa. Then in the bottom of theinning, Drake's Brooke Buchanan hit one in the gape in left center andscored on Kara DeShaw's single up the middle.

Michele Markham hit a two-out two-run single in the bottom of the fourthto give Drake a 3-1 lead. But the Bulldogs committed four errors in the topof the fifth to let UNI score five runs, three of them unearned, on twohits and a walk, to regain the lead at 6-3.

Drake picked up two runs in the on an RBI single by DeShaw and an error bythe left fielder on the same play, and UNI scored a run in the top of thesixth on four successive hits capped by Angela Higgins RBI single to makeit 7-5.

UNI improved to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in tournament play. Drake is 0-10.
