SABINO SPRINGS, Calif. - -

Oregon State finished 17th at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational women's golf tournament on Tuesday. The Beavers shot a final-round 322 to finish with an overall 969 at the par-72, 6,134-yard Raven at Sabino Springs.

Many teams were forced to complete the second round Tuesday morning before beginning their final round after darkness suspended play Monday night.

Leading the way for the Beavers was junior Ashlei Pendleton, whose score of 78 in each of the three rounds gave her a total of 18-over 234 and a tie for 55th. Pendleton leads the Beavers in scoring average this year with a 76.6 mark.

Fellow junior Stacie Ferguson carded a 79 in the final round after a second-round 76, but was saddled with an 86 from the first round and settled for a tie for 78th with a 241.

Freshman Alex Lucio shot 252 to finish 87th, and sophomore Laura Skinner was one shot back at 253. Sophomore Kelly Ferris finished with a 257.

In the team competition, third-ranked Duke ended host Arizona's three-year reign as Wildcat Invitational champion, edging both the No. 10 Wildcats and No. 1 Auburn for the title by seven shots with an 876.

Arizona's Lorena Ochoa, the nation's top-ranked player according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, won the individual medal with a 9-under 207. She claimed a five-shot victory over Tennessee's Tina Schneeberger.
