Lindsey Yamasaki Invited To Participate In All-Star Game And 3-Point Shootout

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior Lindsey Yamasaki (Oregon City, OR/Oregon City HS) has been invited to participate in both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-Star Challenge and ESPN's 14th Annual Three-Point Championship.
Yamasaki will not participate in either event if the second-ranked Cardinal advances to the NCAA Final Four on March 29 & 31 in San Antonio, Texas.The WBCA All-Star Challenge will be held on Saturday, March 30 at the University of Texas at San Antionio at 4:00 p.m. (CT). The game will match the 2002 USA Basketball National Team, which features Chamique Holdsclaw, Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Swoopes, against Yamasaki and 19 of the other top senior collegiate players in the country.
The 3-point championship, which will be aired on a tape-delayed basis by ESPN, will be held in conjunction with the NCAA Men's Final Four on Thursday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. (ET) at Georgia State University. The contest features eight of the top senior 3-point shooters in women's basketball, and concludes with the champions of the men's and women's competitions taking on one another in the 'Battle of the Sexes'.
Yamasaki has started all 29 games for the 28-1 Cardinal and is averaging 17.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists. She is shooting 39.5 (58-of-147) from 3-point range this season, and ranks third in Stanford history with 188 career 3-pointers.
