Men's Tennis Edges New Mexico State 4-3

Las Cruces , N.M. - The 73rd ranked men's tennis team fell behind early, but battled back to overcome the 74th ranked New Mexico State Aggies 4-3 Friday evening at NMSU Tennis Center.
The Aggies were able to grab an early lead in doubles play, winning two of three matches, and taking a 1-0 lead. The sole Oregon doubles victory came from the tandem of sophomores Chris King and Greg Dubourdieu, who defeated NMSU's duo of Luis Avila and Danilo Zivanovic 8-5.
In singles play, the Ducks made up the deficit, winning four of six matches, and capturing the victory by one point. In the No. 1 slot, junior Oded Teig cruised by Michael Hellwig 6-1, 6-2 to highlight the action. Freshman Sven Swinnen was impressive in the No. 4 spot, as he battled back from a 3-6 first set deficit to defeat the Aggie's Luis Avila 3-6, 7-6, 7-5. In another of three extended set matches, sophomore Greg Dubourdieu won the final two sets to claim victory over NMSU's Dan Even 6-7, 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 6 spot.
The Ducks face another ranked team, No. 75 Texas-Arlington tommorow at noon in Las Cruces, N.M.
