Softball Blanks Evansville, 8-0

TUCSON--Jenny Finch pitched a five-inning no-hitter and was one of fourArizona players to homer in an 8-0 victory over Evansville Saturdaynight in UA's Hillenbrand Invitational softball tournament.

Leneah Manuma doubled to lead off the Arizona second, and designatedplayer Jenny Gladding homered to the opposite field in left to give UA a2-0 lead.

Finch socked a two-run home run to straightaway center following anEvansville two-out error in the third to give UA two unearned runs and a4-0 lead, which lasted only until the next batter, Manuma, homered toright to make it 5-0.

Lovie Jung led off the UA fifth with a home run to right, and after ahit, a walk and an error, Finch drove in a run grounding to second baseto make it 7-0. The winning run, unearned, scored when Evansvillerightfielder Kate Walker dropped a fly ball that would have been thethird out, and Finch crossed the plate.

Arizona improved to 22-2 and is 3-0 in its tourney. Evansville is 10-10and 1-2 in the tourney.
