UW Swimmers Grab Three Top Ten Finishes During The Final Day Of The Pac-10 Championships

LONG BEACH, CA -- UW Junior Kim Harada (San Lorenzo, Calif.), Anissa Hilyard (Whittier Calif.), and the 400 freestyle relay team claimed top-ten finishes on the third and final day of the Pac-10 championships at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool. Harada continued to shine grabbing her third top-five finish of the meet in the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.69 an NCAA B time. The Huskies finished the meet in eighth place with 449.5 points.
Hilyard earned an eighth place finish in the 200 butterfly also claiming an NCAA B time of 2:01.64. The third top ten finish came when the 400 freestyle relay team of Harada, Desiree Johnson (Post Falls, Idaho), Lisa Fanning (Bellevue, Wash.) and Annette Vayo (Placentia, Calif.) placed seventh with a time of 3:27.18.
Other highlights from the final day of competition, included Julie Massey's (Tacoma, Wash.) 14th place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:18.15 an NCAA B time. To go along with her seventh place finish in the 400 relay Vayo was able to claim a 13th place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:01.99.
This was the final day of the Pac-10 championships. The Husky women will be back in action tomorrow when they compete in the Belmont Invitational. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
