No. 17 Cal Competes at Spartan Invitational

BERKELEY - The 17th-ranked California women's golf team competes at the Spartan Invitational at the Corral de Tierra Golf Course in Salinas, March 4-6. The three-day, 54-hole tournament features 15 other teams - No. 10 Arizona State, Cal State Monterey Bay, Hawaii, New Mexico State, No. 6 Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, No. 22 Pepperdine, Santa Clara, No. 5 Texas, UNLV, No. 13 USC, and No. 19 Washington.

Tee times from holes 1 and 10 start at 8 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. There is no admission charge.

After winning the Bay Area Classic last week, the Golden Bears jumped from No. 28 to an all-time best ranking of 17th as of March 1. Individually, Anne Walker ranks No. 35, Sarah Huarte is No. 65 and Vikki Laing is No. 85.
