Women's Golf Finishes Sixth At Spartan Invitational

Junior Mikaela Parmlid shot a career-low 213 to lead the No. 12 USC women's golf team to a sixth place showing at the Spartan Invitational held at Corral de Tierra Country Club in Salinas, Calif., on Mar. 4-6.
Parmlid bettered her previous 54-hole low by eight strokes and equalled her lowest round ever with a 69 second round on the way to her highest finish ever--second place--just two strokes back of Kristy McPherson of South Carolina.
Overall, the Women of Troy shot 894, just eight strokes back of tourney champ California (886). Pepperdine and Washington tied for second (887), followed by Oklahoma State (892) and New Mexico State (893).
Also for USC, junior Becky Lucidi tied for fourth with a score of 217, sophomore Anna Rawson tied for 17th with a score of 223, junior Yon Yim tied for 64th (241) and freshman Fleming Helmstadter was 80th (268).
The Women of Troy are next in action at the Ping/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., on Apr. 6-8.
