Men's Tennis Victorious Over Sacramento State 6-1

EUGENE, Ore. - The 66th ranked men's tennis squad cruised to a 6-1 dual match victory over Sacramento State Friday evening at the Student Tennis Center.

In doubles play, the Ducks won two of three matches, highlighted by the duo of Oded Teig, and Sven Swinnen, who easily defeated Fabio Jesus and Peter Farkas 8-2. The lone State doubles victory came in the No. 1 spot, where Sherif Zaher and Matt Jones defeated the Ducks pair of Martin Pawlowski and Jason Menke 8-6.

In singles competition, the Ducks were victorious in five of six matches. Chris King improved his record to 14-3 on the season with a 6-3, 6-0 smashing of Nick Sheehand in the No. 5 spot. In the No. 4 spot, and in the longest match of the competition, Duck freshman Sven Swinnen battled back from a 3-5 deficit in the second set to overcome Sacramento State's Ali Abbou 6-4, 7-5.

The victory improved the Duck's dual record to 9-2. The Ducks now hit the road to face UC Santa Barbera on Sunday.
