EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon women's golf team will travel to Los Angeles for the 2002 Pioneer Electronics Bruin Classic Monday, March 11 - Tuesday, March 12 at the 6,019-yard, par 72 Menifee Lakes Country Club. The Ducks look to improve on last year's 11th place tie with Nevada in their seventh appearance at the 54-hole, 16-team competition.
Last year, senior Jerilyn White led the Ducks with a par 72 in the third round and tied for 11th with a three-round total of 223. As a team, Oregon carded a composite 303-316-307-926.
This year's Bruin Classic will host three top-25 ranked squads including No. 18 UCLA, No. 20 Pepperdine and No. 22 Oklahoma. Last year, Pepperdine captured the team title by six strokes over Oklahoma. Individual medalist honors went to Pepperdine sophomore, Katherine Hull, who posted a 3-under 70-73-70-213. Hull will return to Menifee Lakes to defend her title in this year's tourney.
