No. 3 Women's Tennis Downs Arizona 5-2

TUCSON, Ari. - No. 3 Stanford women's tennis recorded its second 5-2 dual meet win in as many days on Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 34 Arizona in Tucson, Ari. in the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. The Cardinal is now 12-1 overall, while the Wildcats fall to 7-6.
Stanford won four out of the six singles matches and took two of the three doubles matches to clinch the doubles point.
In the No. 2 position, Stanford senior Gabriela Lastra downed sophomore Debbie Larocque, 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Erin Burdette, competing in the No. 4 slot, defeated sophomore Perrine Pernin, 6-2, 6-2. Senior Keiko Tokuda earned a win over freshman Marie-Pier Pouliot, 6-1, 6-0, in the fifth spot. Sophomore Emilia Anderson earned the Cardinal's fourth singles point,defeating junior Daniela Torres, 6-1, 6-0, in the No. 6 position.
In doubles action, Arizona's duo of senior Laresa Marino and Pouliot defeated Burdette and Barnikow, 9-7, in the second position. The team of Kalvaria and Lastra defeated UA's Mlakar and Larocque, 8-4. Stanford clinched the doubles point, as the team of Tokuda and freshman Story Tweedie-Yates downed Hollands and senior Brooke Taylor, 8-5, in the No. 3spot.
Stanford is idle until a Mar. 26 date with Harvard at 4 p.m.
