Women's Golf Finishes 12th At San Jose State Spartan Invitational

SALINAS, Calif. -Freshman Johnna Nealy finishes the invitational in 34th place, after shooting a 73-76-80-230. She lead the Oregon team, with Senior Kathy Cho close behind her, taking the 36th place, with a 75-77-78-230. Freshman Jess Carlyon continued to improved her score of 76, in the second round, by one stroke to close out the invitational at 48th place, scoring 84-76-75-235.
Oregon finished in the top 20, at 12th place. The team shot 317, on the final day and ended with a total of 308-310-317-935. California stayed on top with a final score of 289-300-297-886, one stroke ahead of Pepperdine University and Washington which both ended with a score of 887. New Mexico, who was trailing California by one stroke at the end of the second round, finished in 5th place overall with a final score of 299-291-303-893.
South Carolina's Kristy McPherson held on to her lead on the final day, finishing with 71-69-71-211, two strokes below the next competitor from USC Mikaela Parmlid. Parmlid ended her day two under par and 2nd place over all.
The Ducks compete next on Monday March 11, at the UCLA Bruin Classic..
