Records are made to be broken... In the last two weeks, Pac-10 teams and gymnasts have set over 20 team or personal records...At the UCLA invitational, No. 4 UCLA set a school and Pac-10 record of 198.350. The mark is the highest team tally scored by any team in the nation this season...No. 12 ARIZONA posted a school record of 49.475 on vault against No. 13 ARIZONA STATE, whose team total of 197.850 was a Sun Devil record. WASHINGTON also scored a season-high 195.000...Looking for perfection? Pac-10 Gymnasts scored the elusive 'perfect 10' a whopping seven times over one weekend. UCLA SO Jamie Dantzscher has scored a national-record of seven consecutive 10s on floor...Four Pac-10 teams are on the nation's top-20 list including No. 8 STANFORD and No. 14 OREGON STATE.

PAC-10 GYMNAST OF THE WEEK
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--
ARIZONA STATE SO AMBER GIORGIANNI has been named Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week for March 4-11. Giorgianni's gutsy performance in Seattle against Utah State and Southern Utah enabled the Sun Devils to post their second-highest team score of the season (196.100) and highest team tally on the road. Giorgianni, a 5-6 sophomore from San Jose, Calif., missed almost a year of competition due to a torn ACL. Now healed and ready, Giorgianni has come back with a vengeance. In just her second competitive routine of the season, Giorgianni improved her career best from a 9.875 to a 9.925 on balance beam. Her score was good for the win.Over the last two weekends, the Sun Devils have turned in their best performances of the season. On March 1st, they scored a school record of 197.850. Last week's team score in Seattle helped the Sun Devils climb from 17th to 13th in the national rankings.

ARIZONA - On March 1, the No. 12 Wildcats set a season-best team score of 196.700 against Arizona State and a school record of 49.475 on vault...SR Randi Liljenquist holds two new school records, Her all-around score of 39.775 is the highest ever posted by a Wildcat, while her 10.0 on beam is Arizona's first such score on that event. Liljenquist's prefect 10 was the second of her career...Last Sunday, the Wildcats were upset on the road against No. 7 Oklahoma, the Wildcats finished 195.500-196.700. Arizona stands at 8-5 going into its last regular-season meet of the season this Thursday at the McKale Center.
ARIZONA STATE - The Sun Devils were red hot against Arizona as they set a school-record team total of 197.850. The total is ranked second on the Pac-10 top-10 list. On the beam, SR Rhonda Robinette's perfect 10 was the first of her career and the sixth such score in Sun Devil history (on the beam). Robinette's score enabled the Sun Devils to post a school record of 49.650 on that event...Arizona State's last regular season meet was last Friday against Utah and Southern Utah. The Sun Devils kept the flame burning with a team score of 196.100, good for the win.
CALIFORNIA- On March 3, California fell to Sacramento State 193.175- 151.450. The Golden Bears have struggled with a limited squad due to injuries to several key members...FR My-Lan Dodd continues to be the backbone for the Golden Bears, performing more like a veteran each week. Against Sacramento State, Dodd led the team with a team-high 37.875, good for second place...California's final regular-season meet is this Saturday when the Golden Bears host 'the States.' San Jose State, Sacramento State, and Boise State head to Berkeley.
OREGON STATE - The Beavers look to finish the regular season with strong wins against Michigan, Michigan State, and Seattle Pacific as Oregon State hosts the Shanico Inn-vitational in Corvallis this Saturday. The Beavers are coming off a close loss to No. 8 Stanford (196.700-196.000) and to No. 3 Utah (197.350-195.475) over the last two weekends. Against Utah on Saturday, SR Annie Campbell was the Beavers top performer. Campbell's fifth-place finish in the all-around (38.825) and second-place finish on vault (9.850) led the Beavers.
STANFORD -The Cardinal finished its Conference schedule at 5-1 after a win against Oregon State (196.700-196.000). In non-Conference action, the Cardinal triumphed again. They dominated Seattle Pacific , winning the meet 195.800-192.450. Stanford gymnasts finished in the top-five spots on both bars and vault. SR Becky Meldrum and SR Kristin Jensen shared gold with duplicate 9.950s while SO Lindsay Wing led on the vault with a season-high 9.900. The Cardinal finishes with an overall record of 9-3.
UCLA - They're movin' on up...The Bruins moved up to No. 4 in the nation after posting its highest mark of the season. They scored 198.350 at the UCLA Invitational on March 3...The Bruins took the top-two spots on every event en-route to their 11th-consecutive Invitational win...SO Jamie Dantzscher captured three perfect 10s (vault, bars, floor), followed by JR Onnie Willis who scored 10.0 twice (vault, floor). Dantzscher captured her fourth-straight all-around win with a career-high 39.900. She now has both the second-and third-highest all-around totals in school history. And just for the record...the team total of 198.350 is a new Pac-10 record, a school record, and a Pauley Pavilion record. The posting of 49.700 on the vault is also a new Bruin record.
WASHINGTON -On March 2, the Huskies performed strong at home finishing second only to No. 4 UCLA (197.050). Seattle Pacific finished third with a 191.775. The Huskies 195.000 was a season-best score. SO Emily Pritchard tied two career-records, on vault (9.950 -1st) and floor (9.90-2nd). FR Carly Dockendorf and SR Allison Bruce also set career-high marks on vault and bars respectively...This Thursday, Washington heads to Tucson to finish its regular season against the Arizona Wildcats at the McKale Center.
