Softball Player Jennie Finch Recognized As 2002 All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona softball pitcher/first baseman Jennie Finchwas named an All-American Athlete for 2002 by the National Strength andConditioning Association. Finch was nominated by her strength andconditioning coach, Carla Garrett due to Finch*s dedication to strengthtraining and conditioning.

Finch has won 56 consecutive games, an NCAA record, and is 16-0this year with for the No. 2 Wildcats.

The 2002 All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes arerecognized for athletic accomplishments, personal and academicachievements, community involvement, and leaderships qualities. 184athletes from 84 universities and colleges from around the country in 19sport categories were acknowledged for their hard work in and out of theweight room.

The Cats return home tomorrow when they face Simon Fraser at 7p.m. in an exhibition game.
