Husky Gymnasts Finish Fifth at Pac-10s

Stanford, CA - Washington sophomore won the vault title as the Huskies finished fifth overall at the Pac-10 Women,s Gymnastics Championships held at Stanford. Pritchard scored 9.975, a career-high mark, to finish first on the vault. She becomes the fourth UW individual to win a Pac-10 title. Pritchard tied for fourth on bars with a score of 9.925.
Washington was fifth overall with a score of 195.425. UCLA captured the team title with a score of 197.625. Arizona was second at 197.050, Stanford was third at 196.150, Oregon State was fourth at 196.125, Arizona State was sixth at 194.125 and California was seventh at 189.700.
Last season Washington's Stacy Wong won the bars competition at the Pac-10 Championships with a score of 9.975. Klara Kudilkova won the floor title in 1997 with a score of 9.900. She finished first on vault in 1996 with a perfect score of 10.000. Yumi Mordre won Pac-10 titles in beam in 1989 and on floor and in the all-around in 1987.
In addition to Pritchard's victory on beam, the other Husky top finshers including a tie for fifth by Allison Bruce on beam with a score of 9.875 and a tie for third on vault by Dockendorf with a score of 9.925
Washington,s team score was its second highest mark of the year. The Huskies had seven career-high marks set during the meet.
