Women's Tennis Stops South Florida 6-1

TAMPA, Fla. - Behind strong singles play, the University of Oregon women's tennis team won its second straight match, defeating South Florida 6-1 on Wednesday.
'We played a good match. We really took it to them in singles,' Oregon coach Jack Griffin said. 'It gave us some momentum heading into our next competition against Florida International. We just have to come out more aggressive in doubles.'
Oregon swept all six singles matches, losing just one set at the No. 3 slot. Senior Vickie Gunnarsson won at No. 5 singles to improve her record to a team-best 15-11.
Oregon improved to 9-9 on the season while the Bulls fell to 5-12.
The Ducks next play Friday against Florida International at noon. Oregon then takes two weeks off before traveling to Louisiana State April 13 and Tulane April 14.
