Men's Tennis Earns 5-2 Win Over Arizona

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 18-ranked USC men's tennis team defeated No. 63 Arizona, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at Marks Tennis Stadium. With the win, the Trojans improve to 14-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play, while the Wildcats drop to 7-8 and 0-2 in the Pac-10.

USC won all three doubles matches to start the afternoon, each by identical 8-6 scores. With a 1-0 lead heading into singles, the Trojans then clinched the victory with straight-set wins at No. 4, 5 and 6. It was freshman Teige Sullivan who gave USC a 4-0 lead with a 6-3, 7-5 win at court six over Arizona's Arnaud Agniel.

With the outcome already decided, the Wildcats would not be held scoreless. Arizona's No. 41 Steven Capriati defeated Andrew Park at center court, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, and Carl Hagman posted a 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 win over Nick Rainey at No. 3.

The Trojans return to action on Friday, April 5, when they host No. 5 Stanford at 1:30 p.m. at Marks Tennis Stadium.
