Softball's Hunter Earns Pac-10 Pitcher Of The Week Honors

Oregon State softball pitcher Kristin Hunter was named the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week for her performance over the week of March 25-31.

Hunter went 2-0 in that span, including a 2-0 complete game shutout of Oregon on March 29 in No. 14-ranked OSU's Pac-10 opener. Hunter also tallied a save in a 3-2 win over the Ducks a day later to improve the Beavers' record to 29-9 overall.

In all, the junior transfer from Fresno State worked 15 innings and struck out 15 batters while giving up just two runs and 11 hits on the week.

For the season, the Portland, Ore., native now boasts a 10-3 record along with a 1.35 ERA, while striking out 83 batters in 82 2/3 innings in the circle.

The award is the first weekly award of the season for the Beavers and 19th all-time, it was the first of Hunter's career.
