USC SWEEPS WOMEN'S DIVING AWARDS
BLYTHE HARTLEY NAMED DIVER AND NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
HONGPING LI NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR
WALNUT CREEK. -- USC'S Blythe Hartley has been named Pacific-10 Conference Diver and Newcomer of the Year, while USC's Hongping Li has been named Coach of the Year for the second consecutive time, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Hartley, a freshman from North Vancouver, BC, won the one-meter event at the Pac-10 Championships. She placed second in the three-meter and platform events. At the NCAA Championships she won the titles in the one-meter and platform events and placed third in the three-meter event.
Li, in his third year at USC, helped lead the Trojans to three Pac-10 individual titles and five top-eight finishes. The USC swimming and diving team took second overall at the Pac-10s and fourth at the NCAA Championships. The Women's Coach of the Year award in the second of Li's career.
The Conference awards are voted on by the coaches.
