UCLA To Compete In Evening Session At NCAA Championships

In a random draw conducted by the NCAA, the UCLA gymnastics team was selected to compete in the preliminary evening session of the NCAA Championships (hosted by the University of Alabama) on Thursday, Apr. 18 at 7:00 pm Central Time. The Bruins, winners of the South Central Regional, will compete against host team and Southeast Regional winner Alabama, North Central Regional winner Stanford, West Regional runner-up Oregon State, Central Regional runner-up Florida and Southeast Regional runner-up Minnesota.
Competing in the afternoon session at 1:00 pm CT are West Region winner Utah, Central Region winner LSU, Northeast Region winner Nebraska, Northeast Region runner-up Michigan, North Central Region runner-up Georgia and South Central Region runner-up Arizona. The top three finishers from each preliminary session will advance to the Super Six Team Finals on Friday, Apr. 19 at 7:00 pm CT.
The two-time defending NCAA champion Bruins will begin the preliminary meet on the balance beam and will end on uneven bars. Minnesota begins the meet on vault, Florida on a bye before bars, Stanford on bars, Alabama on a bye before floor, and Oregon State on floor.
UCLA has now qualified for 11 consecutive NCAA Championships and 19 overall.
