No. 8 OSU Heads To Madison For Annual Battle With No. 6 Wisconsin, Michigan
SCHEDULE: No. 8 OSU takes on fellow national power Wisconsin, ranked sixth, and Michigan (received eight votes) on Lake Mendota in their annual race, Saturday, April 13. The Beavers will field a varsity eight, JV eight, and freshman eight this year, whereas in years past it was a varsity eight race only. Racing begins at 8 a.m., with approximately 15 minutes separating each race. Conditions on Lake Mendota can be quite harsh, as these teams have raced in the snow in years past.
OSU RANKED: The Beavers earned the highest ranking in school history when the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association poll was announced Wednesday. OSU is No. 8 overall, up five spots from its preseason ranking of 13th. The CRCA poll has been in existence for four years, and no other poll is believed to have existed prior to the inception of the CRCA poll. OSU was rated as high as 10th last year.
