Track And Field Teams To Compete At Sun Angel Classic

The USC men's and women's track and field teams compete in the 23rd Annual Sun Angel Classic at Sun Angel Stadium, Saturday, April 13. Field events are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by running events at 4:30 p.m. PT. Scheduled to compete are some of the nation's top collegiate teams and athletes.
Among those schools joining USC on the track will be Alabama (men), Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Colorado State, Florida and Louisiana State.
Ranked in the Trackwire 25 are USC (No. 1 women -- the defending NCAA outdoor champions, No. 17 men), LSU (No. 2 men and women), Auburn (No. 15 men, No. 18 women), Alabama (No. 12 men), Arizona (No. 13 women), Florida (No. 14 women, No. 21 men) and Arizona State (No. 21 women).
The meet will feature some of the top athletes in the country going head to head, including:
Men's Triple Jump--USC's school record holder Julien Kapek, who holds the nation's top mark, against 2000 Olympian Walter Davis of LSU.
Women's Long Jump--USC's Tatyana Obukhova against Arizona's Brianna Glenn (the defending NCAA champ) and Florida's Keyon Soley.
Women's 100m Hurdles--USC's Natasha Neal takes on Lolo Jones of LSU.
Women's 400m Relay--USC, last year's NCAA runner-up takes on LSU, the defending champ, in this event.
Women's 100m--USC's Angela Williams runs her first 100m of the season against Arizona's Brianna Glenn, the defending Pac-10 champ. LSU's Stephanie Durst and USC's Kinshasa Davis are also in the field.
Women's 200m--USC's Williams and Davis take on All-American Muna Lee of LSU.
