The race for the 2002 Pac-10 title concludes this weekend in Los Angeles. With a 5-1 conference record, the Bruins need two wins this weekend and a USC loss if they are going to claim a share of their first-ever Pac-10 championship. However, both Stanford and USC take perfect 6-0 records into the weekend and control their own destinies. The Bruins will host No. 3 Stanford this Friday at 1:30 p.m. and No. 15 Cal on Saturday at Noon. Both matches are at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. Saturday's match will also be Senior Day for Petya Marinova and Catherine Hawley.
UCLA in the Rankings . . .
As a team, the Bruins dropped one spot to No. 8 in the latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Rankings released on April 10. Individually, UCLA is the only school in the country with two players currently listed in the top-10 of the singles rankings, as Megan Bradley checks in at No. 4 and Sara Walker is ranked No. 7. In addition, Petya Marinova is ranked No. 70 in the nation. UCLA is also the only school in the country to have two doubles teams in the top-10 nationally. The Bruins' top doubles team of Petya Marinova and Walker are ranked No. 3 in the country, while Bradley and Lauren Fisher are close behind at No. 6. New team and individual rankings will be released this Wednesday.

Bradley vs. the Best . . .
Freshman Megan Bradley, UCLA's No. 1 player all season, owns a 26-5 overall singles record and is ranked No. 4 nationally. What's even more impressive, however, is the fact that she is 16-5 against the ITA Top-100 and owns victories over four top-10 players (#3 Adria Engel, #3 Kelly McCain, #5 Sara Walker, #8 Jewel Peterson). All of her losses have come against players ranked in the top-100.
Walker Dominates in No. 2 Slot . . .
After serving as UCLA's top singles player the past two years, Bruin junior Sara Walker has been in the No. 2 position for all but one match this season and is making the most of it. Walker, who is arguably the country's best No. 2 player with an ITA singles ranking of No. 7, owns a 28-8 overall record and is 13-4 in dual-match play. She has four wins over players ranked in the ITA Top-20 and owned an eight-match winning streak from Jan. 25 - Feb. 23.
Ojai Just Around the Corner . . .
The Pac-10 Championships are scheduled for April 25-28 in Ojai, Calif. UCLA's Megan Bradley and Sara Walker will likely be the favorites to take home the singles crown, while the Bruin duo's of Petya Marinova/Walker and Bradley/Lauren Fisher will be vying for the doubles championship. The Bruin tandem of Mariko Fritz-Krockow and Walker are the defending Pac-10 Champions after defeating teammates Fisher/Marinova, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 in last year's final.
