Mikaela Parmlid Wins Peg Barnard California Collegiate

Stanford, Calif. - Junior Mikaela Parmlid shot a one-under-par 143 to win the first tournament of her career at the Peg Barnard California Collegiate held at Stanford Golf Course on April 13-14.

Parmlid fired a second-round 70 to defeat Kim Rowton of Stanford by two strokes. It's the first individual title by a Women of Troy golfer since Candie Kung won the Pac-10 title in 2000.

Overall, USC finished third with a score of 600, seven behind tourney champ Washington (593). California was second (599), while Stanford (607) took fourth and Arizona State (610) fifth.

Also for the Women of Troy, junior Becky Lucidi took 10th (149), sophomore Anna Rawson tied for 26th (154), senior Leila Chartrand tied for 34th (157) and junior Yon Yim tied for 54th (161).

USC is next in action at the Pac-10 Championships hosted by Washington State in Walla Walla, Wash., on April 22-24.
